Conwy Castle and the Walls
You can climb to the top of Conwy Castle‘s eight towers if you wanted, and get a fantastic view over the town and the surrounding areas. You can explore the castle’s many rooms and town walls that have been there since King Edward II tried to take over North Wales.
Smallest House in Britain
The smallest house in Britain, also known as the Quay house, is located on the Quay in Conwy. You can’t miss it despite its size as it’s painted in bright red, standing out from the surrounding castle walls and white cottages. The house measures just 10ft x 6ft, and its last resident was Robert Jones, who was 6ft 3inches tall! Squeeze yourself in and have an insight into what it would be like to live in Britain’s smallest house.
Plas Mawr is a truly magnificent townhouse standing within the heart of Conwy town – right on the high street. You can experience how the wealthy merchant Robert Wynn used to live in this amazing Elizabethan house.
Just outside of the town of Conwy is Bodnant Gardens, one of the best gardens in the country. There are large lawns, hidden corners, impressive ponds, terraces, a steep wooded valley, and a stream to explore. The garden is full of beautiful plants from all over the world.
Drive up the Sychnant Pass, park your car, and explore the network of paths and lakes around Conwy Mountain. You can walk up to the summit and enjoy the amazing gviews over the town and the Iron Age hillfort. Keep an eye out for the wildlife, there are ravens and choughs that nest in the area.
The marina and quay in Conwy, is the perfect spot to relax and watch the world go by. Maybe grab some lunch from the local chippy, a pint from the pub on the front, or stroll around with an ice cream and take in the pretty surroundings.
