Women Who DanceThat may sound a very strange title for an article and it could very well be two themes that you’d never put together and you’d be forgiven for thinking so! However, it is actually the case this coming January when you stay at caravan parks in Snowdonia and take a journey to the local town of Caernarfon.

As the dust settles on 2013, the new entertainment calendar for 2014 begins to take shape and no less so than at Galeri Caernarfon. This illustrious theatre, along with Venue Cymru, is one of the main places to be for live entertainment any time of years with thousands flocking through its entrance each year.

From the mainstream to the indie and everything in between, Galeri has always had one of the most diverse selections of events you’ll find anywhere in Wales and so it proves with Witness – Portrait of Women Who Dance on the 27th of January.

Have you ever wondered how it is that dancers get into their trade as you’re an enthusiast yourself? Then three professional dancers will be talking to the stage to talk openly about what drives their passion for the art form, possibly giving you the insight and inspiration that you need.

The easiest term to coin this event as would be a ‘live documentary’ as these extraordinary professionals interpret their lives with such skilled choreography. As part of a collaboration, the trio will be delighting and invoking thought to the audience with their mesmerising displays. With the focus being on the personal, expect a candid look into the lives of these dancers by their own masterful interpretation. A review of their act released recently states it is: “A beautiful piece of work, moving, inspiring and thought provoking – about dance, about women, about being in front of cameras…” and so it could prove when you book a ticket for this hotly-anticipated event.

At £10 for adults and £8 for children, this could be an artistic sojourn for you and the family in the New Year that could be well worth a visit.
