walking in SnowdoniaThere are few places of true tranquillity in Wales that can match up to a cathartic walk around the sights in and around the charming city of Bangor. If you are an explorer at heart and would love to meet up with likeminded people away from your holiday parks in North Wales, be sure to tag along with the Bethesda Ramblers.

A group renowned for their love of nature and exploration, the Bethesda group are always holding fantastic group events around the glorious countryside. Whether you’re after an enjoyable recreational walk or a real challenge, they always have something to offer a traveller.

Their nearest excursion takes place on February 18th and it takes in the remarkable Bangor Mountain which although not technically a mountain, still provides a stunning viewpoint of the city below. As a 5 mile adventure, you can expect to take a lot in on your walk around this scenic area.

Following this, the ramblers will be holding another event which is altogether more of a challenge. This 9 mile walk will take you on a journey to two mountainous regions of North Wales all in the space of a day. Going up Y Garn is a trek in of itself but when you attempt Foel Goch too, you’re assured of a testing but infinitely rewarding time on the 5th of March.

Taking place just three days later, another taxing but equally satisfying walk can be had with the Bangor Bethesda Ramblers on the 8th of March. If your legs have recovered in time or you want it to be your very first adventure, a group walk along another mountain range taking in Gallt y Wenallt and Lliwedd could be just the thing for you. An 8 mile walk can be enjoyed when you set off from Pont Bethania at 10 in the morning.

These are just of the great rambling events you can participate in over the coming month so for any further information on how to be a part of this great community, be sure to forward any queries you may have to: bangorbethesdaramblers@yahoo.co.uk.
