As with sailing the easiest way to get into the sport is to go to one of the RYA's training schools like the offshore sea school at Pwllheli.
Jet skiing has an incredibly bad reputation among other water users as it tends to produce large wakes, disrupting the waters surface severely, also riders are often regarded with disdain for their ignorance (or arrogance) about this and ski in areas where there are other water users. This puts both them and any other users lives at risk. As a result I recommend you seek proper training from the RYA.
