Back in 1875, a group of members from the Royal Liverpool Golf Club realised the potential of this land and initially arranged a 12-hole layout, leading to the formation of the Club in 1890 and an 18-hole course by 1895. Since this time, our history page details the many Championships, both professional and amateur, that have been played at Conwy.

The Conwy links feature on the three Douglas Adams paintings of 1893 and these are sited in some famous places around the world. Please see our History page and let us know where you have seen them!

The link with Royal Liverpool Golf Club continues, with Conwy selected as a Local Final Qualifying Venue for The Open Championship during July 2006. This was the first time for a club in Wales to have had this honour and the event was a great success, with only the three qualifiers under par-Jon Bevan, Mikko Ilonen and Warren Bladon.

Ilonen, from Finland, who has just won the 2007 Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open, was full of praise - ' I loved the flat, links layout ... tough but very fair' and went on to finish tied 16th at The Open itself.
Conwy have also hosted the 2007 Ladies' British Amateur Stroke Play Championship.

So, there can be no better time to come and enjoy the challenge, the scenery and the welcome at Conwy Golf Club.

Conwy Golf ClubThe Club has seen many changes over the years, but most recently, we have invested in a fairway irrigation system, as well as creating new bunkers and reconstructing the existing hazards. In addition, our visitors will enjoy our refurbished changing facilities, stunning views from the restaurant & lounge and catering facilities par excellence!

We are also proud of the fact that we were awarded the HSBC/Golf Monthly Regional Course Rankings Gold Award for 2005 and 2006.

A variety of Open Competitions are held through the year and for anyone wishing to enter, please download the relevant form.

For our latest Green Fee details, please click on the Visitor Information page, whilst our Course and Gallery pages will hopefully give you a flavour of what to expect out on the links at Conwy. In addition, our Useful Links page includes a range of accommodation suggestions and tourist information for you.

Our Membership page may be of interest to anyone wishing to join the Club, giving up to date information on our membership offer (currently no entrance fee), whilst our Events page [in the Members Area] will include up to date golfing fixtures and social items of interest for both our members and visitors. There is also an up to date list of the Club's officials and committee members in the Club section.
