Llandudno ActivitiesLlandudno hotels are based in a town of beauty and endless attractions. It is one of North Wales’ most famous holiday destinations and there are events, big and small, happening every month. It is also home to activities and sights that keep locals and tourists returning to Llandudno again and again. The best part is you don’t have to travel far. Unlike other locations the vast majority of activities are all inside the town so it’s a short walk rather than a short drive between fun things to do if you are staying in Llandudno. That means you can do multiple activities in one day if you’re up for it!

There are numerous, elegant Llandudno hotels to choose from, all offering different, attractive styles. There are B&Bs, cottages and traditional hotels providing amazing, friendly service. You can stay in the main town or right on the seafront with views of the bay. Llandudno is renowned for its fabulous choice of high class hotels.

The Great Orme is probably the most famous thing about Llandudno and therefore should be seen by all holiday goers and those on day trips. The views from the top are simply inspiring. You can see the town on one side, mountains on another and open, blue sea on three sides. Its foliage has remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years. It is home to many wild flowers, plants and wildlife. Many fossils have been found in the carboniferous limestone of the Orme. The ancient peoples of the Bronze Age mined the Orme for copper and this continued until the 19th century. The mysterious caverns of the ancient mines are now open to the public and well worth a trip. If walking up the Orme is a bit of a strain you can take a tram or cable car right to the top and watch the land descend away below you. Half way up the Orme is the pretty ‘Happy Valley’ gardens and a dry ski slope, tubing and tobogganing centre. Keep an eye out for the wild Kashmiri mountain goats on the way up!  With all the Orme has to offer you can easily fill a long weekend.

The Little Orme is often forgotten but worth visiting. It has cliffs and caves for experienced climbers to traverse and is a site of scientific interest managed by the Wildlife Trust. The Little Orme is a delightful spot for walkers.

Apart from being a place of nature and peace Llandudno is also a lively town with a plentiful night life. The tranquillity of the natural landscape and the buzz of town life exist side by side in easy walking distance from each other. There are lots of shops, cocktail bars, traditional pubs, fantastic cafes and marvellous restaurants dotted all over the town in a variety of cuisines including Italian, French, Mediterranean, seafood specialists and Spanish Tapas. You are spoilt for choice.

Llandudno is well known for its beach, which some of the finest Llandudno hotels overlook. People visit the gentle, sloping beach everyday for its soft sands and views of the Orme. Llandudno’s Victorian Pier extends out past the beach and is covered in small shops and tourist stalls. Boat rides are available in the summer from the beach, round the Orme. Even on rainy days there is plenty to do and see in Llandudno. It possesses several beautiful churches and chapels to explore such as St Tudno’s and St John’s Methodist church. Venue Cymru is the place to go to see shows and gigs. It is in the centre of Llandudno’s promenade and has its own restaurant. At Llandudno Museum you can learn all about the town’s history and Mostyn Art gallery displays contemporary work from Welsh artists.
